Thumbs up Lower S. branch/main stem 12/2/21:

Hit the lower South branch starting at 7am at Hamden Rd below Clinton, had one hit. Fished around there and a few spots like Camp Carr and Three Bridges where I finally got one. Hit a few other spots like Neshanic and a few other spots, nothing. Wind never came up so I went to Duke Island Park where I got one. The fish was missing a chunk of gill plate,I think it was trying to impersonate Frank Langella from the movie "The Box" (which you can watch for free on Youtube, I strongly recommend you watch this movie) Moved down river to the "Lard Spot" where I caught another. That spot looks like nothing but always seems to hold fish, can never figure out why, at least this time there were no shot guns going off by duck hunters. Moved further down nothing.
Caught 1 trout in fall trout stocked water and 2 in NT (non trout) non fall stocked water, go figure. Probably last 60* degree day for a while, water shot up to 43* today so I am officially into the winter funk where 2 fish can be a good day. Posting the obligatory tire photo also, (but saw few) today in the low gin clear water.

Andy, I observed them stocking this fall in the lower SB Raritan. Neshanic did not receive any fish due to bridge being out because to Ida.
