Not NJ, but freshwater!
Hey guys, just got back from a wonderful week down in the Orlando area. Went down with a friend and stayed with another friend of mine. The initial ideas were to pond hop, hit Okeechobee, and other nearby lakes. Never got to hit Okeechobee, but hit Lake Toho(pekaliga), Lake Conway, John's Lake, and a bunch of other smaller spots. Unfortunately, we just missed the spawning, so a lot of the fish shrunk down.
Let me just say, I love it down there. If there's a body of water, it probably holds fish. We never found the double digit bass we went searching for, but I also haven't caught as many 4+ lb'ers in such a short time. My bud did lose a bass that was probably 8-10lbs. Anyway, here are the best pics. I did break 2 personal bests in 1 day. I can't wait to go back when my buddy knows the lakes more. This was a research trip for all of us. 5lb'er. Should've been 7+ lbs, but again, post-spawn. Another 5lb'er. 4.5lb'er. |

Re: Not NJ, but freshwater!
I will say that I SOOO miss fishing in shorts and t-shirts and sandals. It was so nice. Plus, I did like how I go down there, and it's post-spawn, and come back here where it's still pre-spawn. I can't wait for this season to get going!!
