Default Hurricane aftermath

Hope everyone made it through the storm ok. I have seen some wild flooding around NJ at the Rivers. Crazy.

Anyone know how something like this affects the river fish? Do they get swept into the bays? I cant imagine they are able to fight the current indefinately.

Anyone out there fishing the lakes? Let us know what kind of action youre seeing.

I would think that there are a ton of fish hunkering down into the calm spots they can find (which are few and far between)

Fish tend to spread out into the flooded areas away from the main river current. In fact, I'll bet there are a few swimming up and down Main Street in Bound Brook right now.

Might be a few in the rollerink on Milltown Road in Bridgewater too. It looks like a big fishbowl!

This is correct. I live across the street from the Rockaway River in Denville. I saw fish swimming down River Road yesterday. We had record flooding. Old records was 7.23' with the next at 7.11' or so... hit about 9.31' with this storm.

Pics here for those interested

This water is what caused 287 to collapse in Boonton a couple miles downstream

Wow. Crazy pics. I saw the Boundbrook flooding from 287 at exit 11.5 or so. Feel terrible for the people that lost their homes.

This is a good observation. I guess they can also sense when the water starts to recede so they dont get land locked?
