Went carping in 82 degree Carnegie Lake this evening on a hot, humid sunny day with a light west wind. Mosquitoes 🦟 were biting. Killed 2. Saw 12 fishermen. Threw out a can of corn 🌽 for chum, then caught and released 23 8-9” white perch and a 9” black crappie with a white 1/32 oz Big Eye jig and 1” chartreuse twister tail on 2 lb test line. After a fish 🐟 stole my lure, I tried a red 1/32 oz Big Eye jig and 1” purple twister tail. Only caught and released a yellow perch and bluegill. Caught and released bluegills with Bowl and Basket whole kernel corn on 12 lb test line. Landed 34 fish 🎣 including my 2,300th NJ freshwater fish 🐟 for this year.

I take it the carp were not cooperating on the corn that day?

No carp on most days in 3 different spots. It looks like they don’t bite in hot water.
