Default bait fish

Can I use bait fish bought in New York state in New Jersey fishing waters?

i don't think that NJ has a law against that, but you really shouldn't. that kind of thing (transporting baitfish) is what has spread Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia and other diseases and invasive parasites all over the place and is the reason that many states now require you to only use baitfish caught from the body of water in which you will be using them.

please don't use them in NJ

Might be good idea to check with bait shops. If ok to use in other state waters..Now NY and I believe Nj have to sell bait that has been checked for disese..Also u have to carry the receipt of where and when purchased..Be worth a few questions next time u buy ur bait.. Also check ur local tacle shops in jersey. i'm sure they will steer u straight.. Good fishing Slider
