Default Rainy day troutin

When I saw the weather forecast earlier this week for Saturday I knew I had to get out for some trout, I love fishing in the rain and it keeps some people home so I'm less likely to see anyone. I've been working from home for over a month now and have done my time on google researching new spots and figured i'd give one of them a shot today.

Pulled up and started fishing and didn't really see much going on. Crystal clear water despite the rains, so I knew I'd have to be sneaky. Tied on a tiny jig and kept walking and casting into every hole I saw.

Come up on one hole and saw a couple fish and thankfully got the biggest (maybe 7-8 inches max) of them to bite, a beautiful native brookie.

Hiked quite a ways upstream and got one more hookup but lost it. Turned around, and went back to the car after about an hour and a half. Success on new water always feels great.

After that I hopped around to a few other WTS, but had no more luck. Flows were high and fish were MIA, but it felt great to get out of the house and onto some fish. Probably going back out tomorrow morning as well. Tight lines all!

Yeah this guy was further upstream than I would've expected him to be! I've caught very few Brook trout but i have never caught one smaller than this one
