Thumbs up Iced Trout and a lone Salmon! 2/6/21

Hit one of the Salmon lakes worth the crew Saturday. Mikey, Johnny peppers and Kirsten were out there early and I wandered onto the ice around 8 am! Nick,Luke and ScowardNJ joined us a while later. Salmon fishing was slow but the marks were there. They were coming in hot on the jig. I hooked 1 on a tungsten and waxie but it popped off with the quickness. Seems they were very picky. Did manage to land one 14 incher on a tip up, cute little fish! Definitely looks like a fish that a Musky or big Pike would absolutely destroy, LOL! We switched gears to Trout to try and get something going. It didn’t take long to figure them out. Mikey Luke and myself cracked some nice Bows late in the afternoon. All nice 14-16 inch fish! Pretty feisty considering it was a cold windy day. I bolted around 430 and we got a text from Scotty holding a really nice size LL a short time later. It was a beautiful specimen and it ate the same thing I was using earlier. Great catch my brother! Slow morning overall with some awesome action in the afternoon. Good day with the boys and a strong finish putting some fish on the ice! TIGHT LINEZ!!! FLAGGGGG!

It’s been a rough start to the hard water season so far... nice to finally get in a good bite with some of my homies!

Haha, after everyone left Fonz drilled a hole out deeper. He was getting small marks deep and couldn't get anything to bite and told me to try the hole. I dropped a tungsten jig down deep, saw a high mark come in, reeled up to it and wham! Still dont know what those deep marks where but I assume small gills.

Fun day on the water with the crew. We got a decent ice season going on right now!
