Default Driftboat build

Ever since I started fishing up north I’ve always wanted a driftboat. Many times me and my brother almost pulled the trigger. The other day we finally did that. I was cruising marketplace and saw a lady literally down the road from me selling Montana kingfisher driftboat kit originally $6000 kit for 500$! Though it be a great project for me and my brother and dad and if anyone could do it certainly be us! This will definitely be a memory I won’t forget figured I share it with you guys.

We been on this for about a week and half and this is where we are at right now..

Wood that gets fiberglassed on both sides... we are in the stitching stage now so those pieces of wire are holding it together you fiberglass in between them ties then cut them and fiberglass the rest of that edge. Alotttt fiberglass but so going to be worth it

that's a pretty cool project! i always thought drift boats were all metal. Will you be able to take this up to sr or is it too rocky up there?

Spent some time in drift boats out west & jets . This bring backs memories of the early days on the salmon river before the mobs emerged .
Late 70’s thru early 80’s I remember 2 drift boats on the river . I fished there several times a week and those two would come by .
I think guides were Ken Budd & Ron Clark , pioneers in that fishery .
Fishing awesome when the steel took hold , good days easy 12/20 steelhead !
First time I ever witnessed a float rig , couple of Canadians would fish close to me
on occasion and float fished !
Good luck Mikey !
