Default Solo mission Rocket Bass

Had plans to fish with a buddy Sunday morning, but he ended up bringing his own boat, so I flew solo for the mission. Got on the water around 8am and began watching the FF screen for the arches and bait. Found some marks and the rods started bending, including my first solo hybrid double header (holy sh*t was that fun ). No dinks today, all fish were between 22" and 24 3/4" and all released. Despite the best efforts of my cooler and aerator, my herring started dying pretty quickly and by 1030am, were mostly belly up. I trolled dead ones and plugs for a bit but didnt have much action so I packed it in around noon.

.

Looks like a great morning on the water.

I haven't seen any hybrids in a few weeks. I guess they just moved out to deeper water than I fish with my kayak. I was out there that evening. I caught-and-released a bunch of Smallmouth, but didn't see any hybrids.

Heat of the summer gets these fish going by the looks of things.

I’m pretty sure I saw you guys. I recognized your blue shirt and beard from your pictures!I was right next to you guys with the two kids in the boat. We did terrible too. It was our first time there. All our herring died. Caught the skunk. We definitely marked a ton of them but they didn’t want dead baits.

Put those dead SOBs on the bottom and hold on. Mongo catfish. Chunk them too. Keep the kids engaged.
