Well I had a feeling there was some thicker ice around sure enough.... Bolted right from work today made it to the walleye promise Land and hailed marry 5 tipups with xl shiners. With the little amount of fishing time I had no jiggy jiggy time for me..... Just as the sun was setting flag goes up and peeling line set the hook and iced the first eye of the season taped out at 23". Ice was thickest ice in the state just over 3" by a hair. Ps.
