Default Greenwood Lake Access Public Launches

Hi everyone....hope your are all doing well. As of today we are at 1336 and need 164 more signatures to hit 1500 within the next two weeks.

Check this out: https://www.villageofgreenwoodlake.o...public-launch/

This was posted on the Village of Greenwood Lake website as to what their intentions are.....we will see!

Tomorrow, June 16 will be the first day that bass can be "in possession" in a boat meaning the tournament season for bass in NJ will be underway. PLEASE....IF YOU BELONG TO A BASS CLUB OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS....SPREAD THE WORD, TALK ABOUT THE ISSUE, and SIGN, SIGN SIGN THE ONLINE PETITION WITH THE LINK GIVEN ABOVE IN THIS MESSAGE BOARD FEED.

Next Wednesday, June 23 the Greenwood Lake Commission will convene for their monthly June meeting at 7 PM. WE NEED YOU!!! They need to see more faces present and know that we are NOT going away. Please make your voices known....they will remind you that you only have 3 minutes....especially if they don't seem to like what you are talking about. Remember to be courteous, respectful, and polite when voicing your concerns. They have already told us there is not much they can do. THEY ARE THE COMMISSION....OF COURSE THERE IS SOMETHING THEY CAN DO OR AT LEAST HAVE A HAND IN PUSHING THIS ISSUE TO THE FOREFRONT SO THAT SOMETHING CAN BE DONE.

Remember that Lake Bill I alluded to passing the Senate? if the bill passes the assembly and goes to the Governor's Desk Greenwood Lake will be allocated $750,000 year for 10 years. It will not cost that much to put in quality ramps. Just go to the Greenwood Lake Commission website and sign up for the June meeting...they will send you the link.

Also remember that the NJ Fish and Game Council meets monthly . Their information can be found on the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife website. Download "GoToMeeting" App and you are in....very simple.

We are definitely headed in the right direction. The number of signatures has slowed somewhat and we are hoping that is because the majority of you have already signed. Really hoping bass clubs throughout the state (MANY OF THEM!) will put us over the top!

Remember even if you don't fish Greenwood/head up this way...YOU are still a vested participant/stakeholder since your license fee goes to stocking Greenwood as well as many other waterbodies in the state. So...please....HELP US.....and support us in this venture and let these Public Launch Ramps come to fruition.

All written petitions please return to

UFANJ
P.O. Box 253
Montvale, NJ 07645

on or before June 30 2021.

Note: we will probably keep the ONLINE PETITION active for some time to amass as many signatures as we can even past the June 30 WRITTEN PETITION deadline.

Talked to a reporter today from NJ.Com online news who is very interested in running a story on the issue. Will let all know when it is completed and comes out!

The squeaky wheel gets the grease! Thank you all for your continued support/input regarding this matter. Please take note of next meeting times and be there if you can with us.

Greenwood today....your lake tomorrow....and as I previously stated....this IS starting to happen elsewhere also.

SIGN, SIGN, SIGN, SIGN!!!.......ONLINE LINK IS AGAIN ABOVE FIRST THREAD ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD.

All of you be well and we will keep you posted.

Default Re: Greenwood Lake Access Public Launches

I live in a neighborhood on GWL which has it's own dock and ramp owned by the PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCATION. I am fortunate to have access but I understand peoples frustrations. The is due to the parking of trailers at MARINAS.

Since COVID started demand for dock spaces drove many marinas to expand their dock capacity to meet demand, the problem is no parking for the people who have a slip. This has forced the marinas to allocate space for daily parking to trailer storage and a fewer spots for customers.

There is BROWN'S POINT STATE PARK but parking there is minimal, no ramp and also where the weed harvesting operation is based. WEST MILFOR has been planning to develop the park with a boardwalk, shops and possibly a public ramp. Once gain the issue … parking spaces- the NEXT GREAT FRONTIER.

Best thing we can do is go to the WM town meetings, demand them to get their act together with BRONW'S POINT and parking across the street in the vacant lot. They want a revenue stream but this low hanging fruit is just rotting on the vine.

In the mean time, the lake is weeded in, the fishing stinks and you should go to the BIG HO or maybe make friends with people who have GWL ramp access in their hood...just sayin yo!
Call me SCOTTIE IF YOU NEED ACCESS-WILL GET ON THE FAMILY PLAN.
