Default Spruce Run Creek

Why is there still a contaminant containment boom across the creek just past the bridge where the creek enters the reservoir? There is an excavator there as well. I know there was a problem with sediment entering the stream earlier this summer. Was that problem not solved?

By the way, the water is slowly draining out of the reservoir. It's not as bad as last year, but it's way down.

I don't know what they're doing there. They're moving the stones around. Every time I drive by the stones in the creek bed are arranged differently.

They really pulled the drain plug on the reservoir. If it gets much lower, I'm just going to scoop out the hybrids with a bucket.

Yes, the crews are still cleaning up the mess from the summer time. Due to the massive amount of sediment released into the creek, it has taken crews a long time to get it cleaned up. However they have made a lot of progress and I'm glad to hear that the quarry is footing the bill. The stones are being placed as temporary damns to catch the sediment and they are using the excavator as well as pump truck so get all the sediment out. I live right in Glen Gardner and have fished the creek for over 10 years, so I've been trying to get all the information about it that I can. Let me know if you have any questions!
