Default Exploring New Spots, Continued

Got up early on Sunday to hit another river new to me. Got to the first access point at 7am and the fog was thick, the grass was high, and there were enormous spiders everywhere. I walked up to the river and stepped on the bank, sank up to my thighs in the mud. I explored a long stretch of the river, but the water was very low and most holes I found weren't holding many fish, if any. I got to the next access point i could find where there was a decent hole and caught a few redbreasts and a tiny largemouth. I walked back to the car and drove down stream to another access point hoping to find some better holes.

I found two more redbreast honey holes and quickly caught over 20 of them along with a few more micro bass. At this point, Nick and Luke joined me and we continued walking along the river, and everyone was whacking redbreasts. A lot of the ones we caught were a good size and fun to catch on UL setups. I caught a perch further down, Luke did too, and Nick caught a tiny pumpkinseed at one point. the multispecies action was great.

A lady passing by told us about a hole she liked to fish so we hiked to it, and at first it seemed iffy but we fished it and caught some, including a holdover rainbow that darted out from under a rock to grab my trout magnet.

Nothing of size but plenty of fish and species. I'd say by the end of the day, between the 3 of us we must've caught 50-60 fish. My phone says i walked 6.5 miles. A good day exploring new spots! Tight lines!
