Cool First day out SBR

I decided to try for some trout after work and hit the SBR in the F-Town - Clinton area. The water was high and slightly dirty. I wound up catching 3 rainbows but it was a lot of work moving from spot to spot. Caught all fish on a rooster tail spinner. I think the fishing will definitely get better once the water warms up a bit and the levels drop. Tight Lines!

Thumbs up Re: First day out SBR

I for one am actually enjoying the cool water and high water levels.
We have all summer to look forward to low warm water.
Glad you got out and got a few !

Default Re: First day out SBR

I cant say water temps couldnt be more ideal. Actually a bit higher and smallmouth will be biting those spinners. Water flow was a bit tricky today by even the main stem raritan wasnt too muddy.

Nice report, glad you caught some. GL with future south branch trips, definitely a good river to fish and explore.
