Thumbs up Raritan river 4/16/24:

FINALLY got out and got my first fish of 2024 !!! Uncle Ken and I hit the BIG water, we did ok. We both lost a drag burner, big jump, headshake, gone !!
Hit Duke Island Park, Robert St. and Orlando Park Raritan Borough, Robert St where we did the best. A guy soaking Power Cheese up at the falls said the Eagles were feasting yesterday, I guess better than those pesky cormorants.
Hoping to have more fishing time now as I quit my job and put in for my Railroad Retirement pension. First I have to get through open heart surgery to repair my mitral valve next week, just a speed bump ??? we shall see. The Veterans Administration gave me carte blanche at Deborah in Browns Mills to get done whatever I need to get done, thanx to your tax payer dollars
Will be wearing my NJF T shirt to the hospital next week. Catherization showed no signs of any blockages and the T.E.E showed my mitral valve flapping in the breeze ! Kinda sucks and the nice weather is just getting here, might have been better to recover in January and February when nothing is going on but I really can't pick and choose.

Good fishin with you again dude. It was my first Jersey fish of 2024 as well. Although I had 9 days of the skunk before today. As you said...I suck!

Good luck on Monday and I'll see you soon after that.

Best of luck with the open heart surgery. You'll be better than ever in no time.

Nice rainbow.
