Good fun, good friends, and good fishing. That's what it's all about right there!

Re: Njfers in salmon country!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing better than the Salmon River and Lake Ontario tribs during the fall and winter months is enjoying it with a bunch of good friends. Mikey that is one big king in your pic. That stone fly is huge. One reason why when the salmon and browns stop dropping their eggs stones are such a good pattern on the river.
Looks like the river needs water like everywhere else but from the pictures it looks like you found a stretch without crowds that I'm sure added to the enjoyment of the trip. Amazing the strength and energy those fish exhibit running the river when in a month's time they'll basically all be lining the bottom of the river. Nature's way! Just curious, is that a big flesh fly or just a big piece of sponge in that one King's mouth on the stringer? Last edited by dakota560; 10-11-2020 at 06:12 PM.. |

Re: Njfers in salmon country!!!!!!!!!!
I had a blast up there with everyone!!! I got a taste of hooking one, now i just have to go back and land one! Big thanks to Mikey, Eddie and Scotty for showing me the ropes. It was a tough day for me with my waders ripping at 4am and breaking my prescription sunglasses, but Scotty came in clutch with the backup pair of waders so i could keep fishing! Hopefully next time ill come up for more than 24 hours too

Re: Njfers in salmon country!!!!!!!!!!
This trip was pretty epic on quite a few levels. We had a nice crew and some great food and drinks. Watching the young guys conquer there first Salmon was simply awesome. I’m pretty sure they’re both hooked as it looks like there may be a trip in the near future. Thanks for coming up everyone. Hope to see out there again really soon! TIGHT LINEZ!!!

Re: Njfers in salmon country!!!!!!!!!!
Now thats looks like a proper road trip.
Congratulations to everyone. If you going to make it one trip a year that would be the one to go to. Mikey and Eddie doing it right. Now for important question. Who did the "Pulaski plunge"? It had to happen. Andre |

Re: Njfers in salmon country!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like a really great time. I would love to give it a try with someone that knows the ropes. I was up there 10 years ago on a very expensive two day trip with a guide arranged by my employer who bailed the day of the trip. So I was stuck fishing with 2 guys at the bottom of the Douglaston who barely knew how to hold a spinning rod, much less a fly rod. Fishing egg sacks under a bobber, not my thing .Any old guys in group?
