Default Interesting encounter with an owl...

Highlight of my Friday evening and probably the year was when a Great-Horned Owl - yes an owl - went after my buzzbait as I retrieved it towards me. It flew down from across the river and headed right for the lure and basically right at me. Very cool. It got within about 15' before it spooked and flew into the trees. So I can now add owl to the list of animals that have gone after my buzzbait:

Painted turtle, bullfrog, water snake, osprey, kingfisher, gb heron, and bat

.

Wow - that's amazing.
Fishing is about a lot more than just catching fish. It's about experiencing nature in a way few other people can.

Last Sunday I had a flock of sand pipers fly past my boat being chased by a Cooper's Hawk. They eventually eluded the hawk by diving under water next to my boat. The hawk took off and the sand pipers emerged and flew off.
