Default Pre and Post front Walleye

Have been lucky enough to spend a few nights on the water lately with some friends. Fished the big lake twice before the heavy storms, then again on Sunday night after the storms. Big difference in conditions and baitfish activity, but decent results before and after. Lots of herring popping last week before the rain. Water was 66 and the topwater bite was on. Big fish was my buddy's 26" on topwater.

Sunday night was pretty different. Water temp dropped to 59 degrees and no herring action until late (2am). Nothing on topwater, big Rapalas were the key. Put 4 fish in the boat, all 20"-24" fish. Hot temps coming end of this week and hopefully some good topwater fishing.

Good luck, if there's any chance of breaking the Curse of the Monksville Walleye, it'd be now. I think I may be up there Friday night kayak style for my MMB (Monthly Monksville Beating). The shallows are on fire everywhere else, so hopefully there's at least one Walleye dumb/hungry enough to wack my F18 lol.
