I have never done well in the surf in Spring Lake or Sea Girt but you can try fishing next to any of the jetties. The Manasquan Inlet is an easy place to fish. I have never fished the Shark River Inlet but I know that it is a popular place so you might want to try there as well.

If you are looking for freshwater, Spring Lake has carp, catfish, largemouth bass and assorted panfish. Overall not a bad fishery.

It's been slow this year, particularly for bass. I went there twice, nada.

Spring lake this time of year is good for panfish, carp, and largemouth Bass. If ya bring bread and chum with it you can catch some shiners for free live bait. There are alot of shiners in that lake.
