beaver pic
6/1/2017 A beaver swam across my Carnegie Lake, NJ, fishing spot Friday evening. I caught 8 white perch, 6 bluegills, a brown bullhead and a green sunfish on a 1/32 oz jig on 2 lb test line. The 13" catfish found hard on my ultralight spinning outfit. I also landed an 8.75 lb common carp and musk turtle on my homemade corn meal bait. That's 47 carp and 14 turtles that I caught this year. They love corn meal.

Re: beaver pic
Any time you see a wet beaver you are way ahead for the fishing day, it's good luck!

This was a few miles up from Carnegie where quakerbridge road meets the canal. Haven't seen them yet this year but there are a couple in the millstone river here in east windsor near my house |
