Default After work bass bonanza

Looking at those overcast skies all day had me chomping at the bit to do a little fishing. After slaving away for The Man all day, 5:00 finally rolled around and I made a beeline to a favorite local pond. As soon as I show up I see fish breaking the surface all over. I started with a buzzbait, but they wouldn't touch it. Then I made the switch to a weightless senko, and it was game on! In a little over 2 hours I got 9 bass up to about 2 lbs. The two biggest came on consecutive casts in plain sight of another guy who couldn't buy a strike.

How keyed in on the senko were the bass? How about this: one of the bass I hooked jumped and shook the senko off the line, and it landed in the pond. Several minutes later I hook another bass and bring it in, look in its mouth, and guess what's halfway down its throat? The same senko I had just lost! He had a gut-full of plastic, and came back for more!

No photos of fish, just the aftermath. I love me some Bass Thumb!

I caught a Smallmouth and a Crappie with a Senko today. The one I used looked like a natural worm color, I have a black/Blue one as well but the natural one worked well.

Nice! My right thumb is still recovering from a bass-heavy weekend. I don't think the Pike slime I rubbed on it yesterday helped though lol.

They really love those Senkos.....I try not to fish them just to justify all the other tackle I have but they just plain work too well. Nice job on the bass and wear that bloody thumb with pride!
