Default Few good days

Just a few pics from Saturday and yesterday. LM bite was so good decided to leave the crappies alone. Two of the best LM bites I've ever experienced. No monsters but nice pre-spawn females for the most part staging along weed lines until the water temperature rises a bit. Fish were keyed in on herring and almost all fish were caught on Keitech white 4" easy shiner in white and silver glitter fished on a 1/4 oz chartreuse ball head jig.

Last fish is a crappie a friend of a friend caught in NY just recently. Fish weighed 3.82 and if a white crappie would have been a state record as NY white is currently 3.13. Black crappy is 4.1. Guy kept the fish alive, transported it in an aerated cooler to an official weigh site, had it weighed on a certified scale, back in the cooler and back to the lake for release. Kudos for his efforts. Since they needed the fish to ID which species of crappy it was, he lost a chance at the state record if it was indeed a white as he decided instead to release the big girl. Great fish, great story and kudos to the skillful angler on the release. One helluva crappie regardless of what species it was.

Never came within a football fields distance of another angler so safety as it should be was first order of both days.

Unfortunately I don't know what temps were as I was wading from shore. But with these cold night temps water felt colder than it was three weeks ago. Water Tuesday felt warmer than Saturday but sorry didn't have an actual read. Was fishing a cove, wind was blowing water out of the cove so with thermal warming during the day some bait moved in and so did the bass.

Great work! Those are some very nice largemouth. And that crappie is enormous. Kudos to the angler for the release.
