Question Spot Lock??

Is spot lock a game changer and worth the investment? Anyone who does have one or been on a boat that does have it please comment. I am considering one for my boat. Thanks in advance!

IMO it is Worth every penny.

Spot lock lets u ditch the anchor. The new units stay within 5-10' of the position you mark. If you mark fish it stays right on top of them. I just bought an ultrex and was able to stay directly on top of lake trout in 80-130' with 15mph wind with gusts and boat wakes on Lake George.

The heading lock is a valuable tool as well. Point the boat in a direction and it stays on that heading and adjusts for the wind and current. great for dragging baits on the bottom in the direction you want to go or slowing down a drift

Spot lock is great. It keeps you on top of the the fish or structure you want. I recently purchased a Motor Guide XI 5 and could not be happier. Also I can control the unit from my touch screen Lowrance

Have one on my ranger and love it. I see a lot of them on the ocean too. Would be curious to hear from the salt guys on how it does.

I know a few who have them and yes a game changer and they wouldn't have a boat without it.

Not sure what size boat you have and where you intend to use it but some with larger boats that fish in open bays or ocean when the wind gets up there it won't hold the spot. Depending on the size of the motor and how long you intend to run it, you maybe looking upgrading your batteries.

One side benefit of these motors is if you're trying to drift fish and there is no current or wind to push you along, you can create you own drift...You can also use it to overcome drifting in the wrong direction, like in a wind against tide situation where the wind is pushing you in the opposite direction of the tide. This could certainly take a bad day of fishing and make it a good one...

Spot lock is worth every penny. Adjustability to move a couple feet this or that way helps.
Anyone wants to come by and look at my setup, give me a shout....holds my 32 sea craft very nicely on my pieces.
