Default Question for Mark B regarding pike stocking

Curious to know if state recently stocked pike in any of our NJ pike waters. Recent trips revealed an abundance of fingerlings along the shoreline. Very cool to see 4-6" esox like that. Aggressive lil buggers hitting micro bait and bugs.

Yes, Budd Lake & Spruce Run Res. were recently float stocked. Pompton Lake, Farrington Lake & the Passaic River will get them soon.

An evaluation (the report is being written) of our Esocid stocked waters, conducted during the past couple of years, will result in some future changes to NJ’s Esocid stocking program.

On the trout front, see Fingerling Trout stocked in the lower Raritan R.: http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/news/...ontinues17.htm

Ok cool. Thanks for the heads up. There were a LOT sitting in inches of water the past 7 days or so. Really cool patterns on them

I know a few pike in Spruce make their way into the creeks to spawn every year, not sure what the survival/hatch rate is on the eggs.

Millstone, & others, will be stocked per usual in 2017.

As stated above, based on the recent evaluation, stockings may change in 2018.

Successful N. Pike spawning has not been documented in NJ.

Is there a listing for the areas stocked on the Millstone as there is for the Passaic?

Griggstown Causeway

Blackwell Mills Rd. (Causeway)

And at a couple of boat ramps in the town of Manville - Hackettstown driver said the directions were complicated. You guys probably know them, right?
