I also prefer the albright , I never had one slip and I find them easy to tie.

Once you get the hang of it ( very ez ) you will see a difference. I actually make it a bit different than the video but just as strong.

Agree the Albright or Modified Albright is a great knot. Easy to tie, but make sure to keep the wraps on the mono when tightening down, once the wraps slip onto the braid, i end up cutting it and redoing it.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried the Albright after this happened but was a little harder to do then the modified Albright. I will definitely try it. Strange thing was I never had a problem with the uni to uni before.

You sure your line wasn't dry rotted?

Positive. Ande 50lb mono leader material. Used it all fall with no problems. Maybe I forgot how to tie that day. Just tied the Albright. Very easy and strong. Also goes through the guides smoother.

I have had that issues before.. Brand new mono and braid and it would still break.. could not figure it out.. Switched to the Albright and never looked back.. stronger and very small profile..

Check out these knots, I did some research and when going from braid to mono or fluro, these are arguably the best knots there are depending on the type of fishing according to sport fishing mag survey! I use the first one for all inshore fishing and some offshore bottom the latter is the best knot according to the survey for any and all offshore beasts! Start with a Bimini twist on the braid and then go with the improved Bristol for the mono or fluro ! Never had any problems what so ever with this one when properly tied. The improved FG is supposed to be the best knot for strength and functionality ! This knot is intimidating for most but with practice and perfection unbeatable! Good luck! Ps both are on u tube !
