Default Pike 9/5/15

Fished the river for a little while this morning. Got a bunch of decent sized fish in the mid to high 20's, with the largest being right around 30". Fish were still hitting sluggishly, and I had a few that would boil on the lure and bust the surface on it but miss it entirely. Only got one picture to save properly, but I'm pretty happy with the quality of the pictures on the Samsung Galaxy S6. Definitely much better than my prior phone.

Yeah it's pretty brutal. Better than ticks and poison ivy though.

Boots are s must. I wear shorts underneath to make it a bit less harsh but its still keeping in your body heat in which even a cooler days really makes u sweat.

I actually saw human foot prints in the mud the other week. That's just asking for some sort of infection.

They're throughout the river, they just move around in response to conditions. In my experience, I have found areas that tend to be very productive in low water conditions.

Yeah, I love the thick waders, even though they are very hot this time of year. They pretty much allow me to walk through any brush, thorns, etc without being cut. They provide some protection against any foreign object in the mud. Also, I can access the water from any point to land a fish, and I prefer to step in the water to release them rather than dragging them on the bank. Lastly, it protects against ticks, biting insects and any type of poisonous plant that may be found along the river.
