Default New to Blackfish jig fishing need help in selecting the right gear

Christmas is coming What do you recommend I put on my list for Santa to bring me. Black fish jig fishing is the mission. Will this outfit do double duty as a bucktailing fluke set up. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am well aware that everyone has there favorites so do not be afraid to list yours. Thanks again and hopefully the seasons will be kind to you

Battalion 12/20 casting rod.
Abu revo beast low profile 40 reel.

Imo it's a great black fish and fluke bucktailing set up .

Fishes jigs from 1 to 6 oz (for fluking) well.

Very sensitive set up for fishing black fish jigs 1 oz to 3 oz.

Lot more backbone than a spinning outfit

My short list of lightweight spinning reels are
- Daiwa BG if you're on a budget or Ballistic if you have some extra money
- Shimano Stradic CI4 Plus

For Rods
- Go see Kevin Bogan once you have your reel and let him set you up with a custom rod that balances well with your reel..
- Off the shelf go one of our sponsors and look at Black Hole Challenger 701L or 731 medium (I think the medium will cover more of your basis)
