Default First ice escapades

Started hitting the ice last saturday, but it was borderline. We thoroughly inspected the area and decided to have at it. It thickened to a more respectable thickness after tuesday night and we went a few more times and whacked some jumbo perch and stayed for the night shift slab crappies.

Unfortunately, although many places locked up tuesday night, not much ice was made on many places after that so please don’t pull a stupid and think an ice report is enough to go blindly walking out.

Great early ice action.
Anyone else have any reports? Ice conditions? I'll be heading out 2moro with the spud bar. Looking for a solid 4 to 5inches to set up base. Do some jigging n tip ups

Great Crappie.

I went Thursday and Friday. Found about 3.75 - 4 inches of ice. Some open water. Found a couple of spots where the ice was closer to 3 inches. Make sure you check the ice thoroughly. Couple of pictures of my perch...1 from Thursday the other yesterday. TD
