Default Prospertown Lake Observation

I had to go to the base this past Sunday figured I would stopped by the lake and check it. First off there were a number of people fishing without licenses and secondly the amount of trash left be behind was disgusting. There wasn't even a garbage can , not that people would use them.

Unfortunately this happens too often. N.J. conservation patrols are simply next to nothing. There should be more patrols and stiffer fines.

Thanks for the link we will see what happens.

Response from DEP:

All our WMAs (and state parks and forests) are "carry in-carry out"
facilities and trash and recycling receptacles are not provided - we don't have the resources to afford and maintain them on all the properties we manage. It's unfortunate a few unethical people impact so many others.

I forwarded your message to our law office. Should you observe a violation report it directly to the office at 609-259-2120 or the 24/7 DEP Action Line at 877-WARN-DEP (877-927-6337) . PT
