Smile Boat speed

Having a few issues. My new boat got repowered early this year. Have 300'suzukii. On a 232 Grady gulfstream. Early on I got 40mph wot. Now only getting 31. I had a filter issue but replaced that but still only 31 mph. Would growth in fresh water really slow me down8 ? Any other ideas ? Rpms seem to be same and fuel use is up,slightly. Ideas? I am going to pull and power wash but is big PIA.

Thx
Bc

There's a lot of factors including how you trim the prop.

Using trim tabs creates drag.

Bottom growth does that too.

Gear in boat.

Eventually water finding its way into the stringers or transom wood slows it down.

Run the boat with only a 1/4 tank of fuel it will even run faster.
