I don't want to run into the same situation as what happened on GWL. That area can be shallow. If you walk out a good ways in may be 2 feet of snow, 2 feet of ice and one foot of water.
I think the main area will be plowed and have easy access. For those who have never seen Spruce Run it may be a good idea to get them to know the main park area, just my $ 0.02 |

As of Saturday the parking off of 31 was not plowed that well. The launch is plowed but the parking lot isn't. Parking could be tight if the snow doesn't melt. The beach area roads were not plowed and the gates into there were locked.

The cove by the Toyota dealership is our best bet for pike. They love shallow water. I'll throw a shovel in my car in case we need I make parking spots. Wear your rubber boots boys!

Yea ice fishing always kicks my ass. Love early season before the snow. I know we could have found deeper water if not for snow that was balls deep.

Glad you guys got into some action later on. I had a great day just getting out and getting to meet some of the crew. It's been a long time since I got to do something cool with my brother, so fish or no fish for me, THANKS! I'll be sure to not oversleep the next time I get out there so I can actually be prepared! A very enjoyable day and I definitely plan on hitting the ice again. Thanks again to all who were present and helped me out on this first ice trip. Definitely a good crowd and a great time.

Come one come all. Should be a blast. When spruce is open this time of year you usually see that little peninsula stacked with anglers. Hmmmmmm, what are they fishing for? Pike of course, and they do catch em. It takes patience but hey you never know. I pulled plenty of cars out of ditches last week on my street, I don't mind pulling out a couple more. I don't think parking or snow will be an issue. See you MANIACS out there!!!!!

Stopped by there today. Parking lot by spruce run creek is pretty rough, but the boat launch is plowed and you can park a dozen or so cars there. Was maybe half dozen cars there and I could see several people fishing, but I didn't have time to hang out and BS. Stopped in Behre BT and got me one of those little rods with the orange springy thingy on the end so I think I'm ready Maniacs.
