I've tried every hook out there from "J" hooks to live bait hooks to circle hooks.

One week when we catch 10 in a row, and thought we found our perfect hook only to throw all the other brands over the side. Next week we pull 5, break 3 and straighten 2. Once again the search for the perfect hook continues.

In my opinion, there is no perfect hook, one is not better than the other from my observation. Every hook has it's good streaks and it's bad streaks. You just don't know what is in your deck of cards when the rod laps over and you can just hope it stays in and does it's job.

With all that said, certain hooks are better for certain baits and that's what we go by now. A live bait will get a live bait hook for the best presentation and a chunk will get a bigger circle hook or "J" hook.

Everyone has their favorite hook, for us we like and dislike them all.

Again...great show.

Like everyone...especially the hard core Pin Wheel guys...reminds me of 20 years ago when Darren and I would run 20 to 25 miles in my Mako 20 (really did not care about the weather back then)...we just went.

One trip in October (1994 I think?) we had a 125 lb BFT...the Mud Hole...we had three rods out with butterfish baits...40 lb Berkley Big Game line with JT (K Mart) leaders and 6-0 or 7-0 tuna hooks...no flourocarbon back then.

We were sleeping and had all three rods go off...two got off and we fought the one for two hours on a Penn 30 with 40 lb line...got off the ball and then harponed it.

It had a shark bite on its side (about a month old?)...unreal.

The Shannon K was next to us and saw the whole thing.

We boated the BFT and it weighed 125 lbs...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...tuna fishing!!

He might crack many people up, however you don't down talk a captain or tell a captain how to fish especially when my boat catches 100 bluefin a year. Paul is only on the boat for a few weeks each fall and see about 10 fish a year. Don't make me change what's not broke.

You want to make the calls, it's simple, buy a boat and be your own captain. There's a reason he goes from boat to boat. What happened on the Bounty Hunter? Billy let him do what he wanted and caught fish and he said he paid him very well. Wonder why he was not invited back? Lets see what happens on this next boat and see if he starts there on season 3? There's a trend here.

It's simple.....captains boat, captains money and captains rules. Ans I'm very fair about including my crew in every decision I make.

Keep watching and see how he treats the next owner/captain and will he be fishing there next season or on another boat again?

Good Fishing coming and hope u all are enjoying it.

That sounds like a fair deal to me Dave. I always say and so do millions of others, "don't bite the hand that feeds you." Good luck Dave and tight lines!!

I believe Marciano relies on his boat catching bft and charters to put food on the table. He is well respected in the industry . Go lions.

We all rely on our boats to put food on the table.

I personally fish from Aoril through Christmas, boat is out almost every day and many streaks 24/7. I fly in the off season and a few days a month while I'm fishing. My boat is my priority and my main source of income. I made the choice to fly also as a back up plan.

Most of the others do the same, but do work in a different field and some take the winter off.

Capt. Dave is right and he doesn't have to justify anything . We don't see everything . Anyone can look great when the Camera's/Customers are around . What someone appeares to be and what they are can be two different things . Not showing up for work or showing up late and not calling ,second guessing the Captain in public, and not pulling your weight behind the scenes are just some of things that all Captains have to deal with . No matter how good someone looks you can only put up with so much of their BS . Also being a part timer your back isn't against the wall as you already have an income . I have liked a lot of my co-workers but being a good person doesn't always get the job done .
