I haven't seen thier switch rods yet but that could be even better choice because of the extended handle that can be used while fighting. I use a Lamson reel with a large arbor for better line pickup and smoother drag that reel has had the sh*t kicked out it for 10+ yrs and is still great. But I also picked up a Pflueger triton for my kid and it has been a great reel with a solid drag. Hope this helps.

Gr8 suggestion !!! I too have been using TFO for a few yrs now...And i gotta say that for the money, they are excellent well made rods...I have a seven foot 3 wt fer tiny strems and native trou and i have a nine foot 5wt for the upper D... I tend to fish these two TFO rods more than my sage and loomis...
If any one is interestedits TFO (temple fork outfitters)

Happy that you got that combo Seth, it always feels good to have those deals go to the right people.

As for TFO rods, I have an 8'6" float rod, and I've been using it as a light plugging rod in the salt, and as a tool for making extra-long casts while lake fishing from a boat, or when wading the Passaic. I really like TFO and the fly guys at the store also speak well of them. Unfortunately we aren't stocking them right now, so you can't come in to try casting with one out in the parking lot, but we do stock some of their other rods, so we could order one if anyone wanted.
