Jerry: Lots of great fishing areas in up state N.Y. Question is are u towing your own boat..Or figure on renting a boat, or maybe chartering a trip or 2? Lake George especially the Diamond Point area up to Bolton landing offers great places to stay but boat rental expensive..So if ur bringing ur own boat this is a great spring trip..Bass fishing is great with some Pike & Pickerel mixed in..And Lake trout fishing is great early season..Also good home base for fishing Loon lake, Schroon Lake and of course Lake Champlain..Good Luck on your trip...

I would advise against Loon Lake. Went there for a week with my friends and was very disappointed with the fishing. Plus the lake is smaller and busy. Not an adirondack feel

Thanks guys, we are leaning twards blomoseen but now im a bit concerned about the boat traffic. Is it that bad in the summer? Do you think it will be too choppy for kayaks?
