However I do see alot of potential in these back areas along with a few deep pockets. The river is very narrow and you can cover a lot of ground very fast. I plan on getting my own John boat this spring and hitting the water early (5am ish) to really see whats going on back there...
Let me know if you do. I will do the same.

I've gone into there a bunch of times, either launching from the end near Two bridges or the beginning by Horseneck Road. Though its a cool float, gorgeous and secluded in there, I haven't had much luck fish wise. An occasional largemouth, crappie and a few small pike is all I have to show for all the hours I've spent in there!

Its funny that you mention that you havnt had much luck either cuz Ive always had very good luck no matter what time of day under the 2 bridges up to the water pump station and down. Ive attempted to fish from shore from the beginning part of the great meadows areas from where 2 bridges starts and I have only 1 pike to show for it which I caught a few days ago... I have no idea why cuz this beginning area has everything you could want in terms of cover, depth, etc...

Aqueduct park has produced very well for me in terms of largemouth and small mouth as well as PIKE.....

The whole Great Piece Meadows is amazing habitat for these fish. TONS of submerged structure, big laydowns all over, sporatic weedbeds, even rocks in some places. I just havent figured out why it doesn't produce like it should.

Where is Aqueduct Park?
