Default IBSP Piping Plover closures

Hey everyone,

Not sure many people are tracking on this but IBSP mobile fishing pass holders are getting shafted yet again.

To anyone that is a pass holder, the disastrous roll out of their new online purchasing contractor this past year with the purchasing of passes was not the first screw ball these knuckleheads threw at us.

Now - they just released a message last week that the entire stretch from Gillikins entry point to the swim beach is closed AS WELL as the stretch from the most southern pull on point on the island all the way to the jetty.

All for these birds.

So the 2 most prominent fishing stretches on the island for mobile beach fishing pass holders is totally shut down until Mid August.

Meanwhile the same birds are nesting on the swim beach also but that is not shut down.

IBSP mobile pass holders , all 8000 of us, have now been condemned to the 3.2 mile stretch of beach that stretches from end of the swimming beach south to the pull on that takes you to the jetty.

What’s funny is they shut down the beach 100% at Sandy Hook out by the tip of the hook where many guys go and fish. You can’t even walk down by the water or try to walk from the tip south to Juliet beach because it’s roped off for these birds.

But now these same birds are apparently all over IBSP and the only sections shut down are the 2 main fishing sections but the swimming beaches are still open .

Makes no sense.

It almost seems like who ever is making these decision 100% hates the recreational fisherman.

What I would like to know is did IBSP know these closures were coming prior to rolling out the passes knowing they were going to be screwing over a lot of people.

Total scam . Total shame.
