I agree with Bunker Dunker & DelawareRiver, spot on. But, we can't have winners without any losers, you know. Wait till he catches more & the fan base will definitely grow. I know I've got a lil "club" of fans that don't appreciate real competition. Keep them pics coming, we love to great fish & good times!!

There are whining ladies on every board, sadly this one is no different. Be happy for your kid and ignore the keyboard warriors.

Not for nothing, but I'll take a proper lip hold and belly support with a pair of gloves on over the 'shake n' bake, fish on the ground next to my boot' pictures I cringe at on a daily basis. If your boy is comfortable enough to hold the fish and stick his hands in a fishes mouth, he most certainly will be comfortable doing the same, sans the gloves, in the near future. Keep up the good work and don't stress it!

Thank you guys. It's appreciated! I know most folks on these forums are truly good guys. It's a little frustrating when you see tose private messages...
anyway - I will be out with the kid this afternoon for his first trout. Bought him his first true rod and reel combo. He's ready!

Once you get a good following and fan club you know you are doing something right! I know I have 4 or 5 guys that I have never met or talked with but hear though friends or caught Facebook comments that sure shot they don't care for me. Guess it's just a different mind set, I'm genuinely happy for anyone be it a friend or someone I've never met that catches a big fish, lots of fish, a big buck etc especially when I know they put their time in. Other guys are just jealous most likely because they have never caught a trophy fish.

Its all in good sport and also shows character. Amongst others, I showed my buddy Adam a pic of that monster flathead with the colors on it that you caught outta the river. Simply a superb looking fish!! Never met you, but I've got that pic saved in my phone & have no problem promoting another angler's skills. Keep them fish pics coming fellaz, get em ' up!!!

.

I scrolled back a few pages and found the picture you're referring to and I don't see anything wrong with it.

In fact, it's technically a good c&r hold with the bass held by his lower lip and his weight supported from underneath at the vent.

WOW! Really?

Getting on a 7yr old and his dad for how a fish was held for a pic?

Is this for real? Just asking cause it seems like it cant be true.

FWIW...glad to the see the kid fishing and catching and not glued to the Iphone or vid game.

Lightbulb Re: It's come to my attention

I find taking a photo of a fish is one of the hardest things to do. Usually you are in the water, or on a boat, or a slippery river bank. Take into consideration these are all OUTDOOR photos in all kinds of weather with a slippery thing that has just been taken out of it's element and won't sit still for one moment. Then there are things moving around like tackle and equipment, and HOOKS, it's tough to say the least. The Trout Unlimited magazine I get they don't want you to take the photo if the fish is even out of the water !!! So it runs the full circle. I think there are just a few easy thing we can do to get that right shot and I found one of them is to use a small landing net, I found it makes taking pics that much easier. I saw no problem with the photo you posted, it is the internet so there will 1000 different opinions on anything posted.
