Nexus 701C MH
How much weight does it realistically fish being it’s rated 1-4 oz?
Reel seat feet wide enough to accommodate an Avet SXJ?

Re: Nexus 701C MH
I have the spinning version of this rod and use if for Blackfish jigging. Although I haven't tried it, I can't imagine using it with over 4 ounces, I think the tip will be too soft to get a decent hook set and pull your fish out of the rocks. If you intend to use if for Fluke, that wont matter as much.
Not sure about the reel foot but since it's a newer model (SXJ) it should fit. Most problems with the wider feet were with the older SXs and you could order the narrower foot from Avet.

Re: Nexus 701C MH
Thanks for input Big Z.
After Christmas, I’m just trying to piece things together. I’ve gotten gift cards from out of state vendors. I can’t actually visit them and put the equipment in my hands before buying. Got an SXJ looking for a home. Looked at the Nexus and some of “house” rods from the boys in NY.
