Default Peacock bassn

Down in South West Florida #Naples doing a little peacock bass fishing.
I sure wish we could have these fish in NJ.
The power these fish have is incredible. Straightened trebles and shake free. Smart fish.

Nice dude! I lived in South Florida for years and always loved Fishing for peacocks. Super aggressive hard fighters!

Back in the 70s and 80s I fished for these in Gatun Lake in the Panama Canal. I never saw anyone else fishing for them and the government was doing PSAs to get people to fish for them and eat them because they were overpopulated.
I fished one day with my wife's uncle and we tried to find a lure that they wouldn't hit out of our tackle boxes, unsuccessfully.
Back then you could buy red snapper (pargo) in the grocery store for 39 cents a pound but pork chops (chuleta) were $3.00 a pound.

Managed a few more today. These fish are so much fun and fight like crazy.
I wish these could adapt to our climate.
