i fished the KLG yesterday and managed to put ten rainbow trout in my net, one was of decent size and the rest were small but my question is, where are all the browns and brookies in the gorge?? I used to love catching all three species in one outing but now it seems that is becoming a thing of the past...... where did they all go? or has the state made a plan to stock only rainbows?

First: Welcome to NJF. Second: if you didn't fish for trout in NJ last year or if you didn't follow any of the fishing web sites, you'd never know. The browns and brook trout contracted a disease at the hatchery that contaminated them and the raceways. They were either destroyed or released in non trout production waters last year. It's all rainbows for awhile.
Stay tuned into NJ Fishing to keep up with all things fishing. Forget about trying to glean anything from the newspapers.l |

okay yeah i have heard all about the disease in the hatchery i was just unaware of the fact that the disease only effects browns and brooks. I surely hope we can eliminate this disease and get the browns and brookies flowin through our rivers again!!!

Browns will be back with time. As of now it's looking 3-5 years possibly longer. Brookies unfortunately may never be stocked again at least by the state

Never fished the KLG. But a few years ago someone pulled out a 10 lb trout out of there. It was in a few magazines.
