Thumbs up Raritan river 4/9/16:

Did the traditional opening day thing. Me, Wilson, Shucker and Keritch were there at Duke Island Park, crowds were very light, thinking the weather kept everyone home. Like the RR tradition, saw 1 trout caught and Shucker got a nice SMB. Ran into Mr. Lard Almighty Sr also. Reports from the North were were slim to nil.

My dad said he ran into you guys up there! I didn't want to make the long trip up since the weather was supposed to be so snotty, but I didn't fare much better at my local spots.

Lightbulb Re: Raritan river 4/9/16:

I wouldn't be so harsh on the fly guy. I think what Wilson is trying to say is there is a deep seam there. So the fly guy walks into the middle of the seam and starts casting toward the bank. As you can see the man is up to his waist in water, one of the deeper spots. We were hugging the bank and casting into the seam. Trout love seams, just do not get why the guy would wade out, stand IN the seam, and cast toward the bank ?
