Been Beatin Up the Trout
Had the last few days off from work and wanted to spend it fishing. I recently got a new ride that doesn't have a tow hitch, yet, so I havnt been able to take my boat out. Instead, I spent the time hitting the trout streams. Walked a few miles of awesome water, some new, some not, and caught a bunch of fish!!
Got em on just about everything I threw at em. Rapalas in a few different colors, spinners of all brands and colors. At one point I was fishing the same pool as another guy from different sides of the river. We bs'd for a few minutes and ended up doublin up on a couple nice bows!!! Few other highlights were my first wild brookie I caught at a random pull off. Was only 5-6" but was a beaut. Self released while I was trying to get a pic. Also, a 20" + bow I hooked and lost as I was tryin to get a pic. I came up to a small backflow pool that had collected and covered over with foam. I tossed my lure a bit upstream and let it float in. First twitch he swung and missed but nailed it the second time. Got em right up to me and saw a nice thick fish. Unfortunately he got off before I could grab him..........  ............ ........... ..........

Oh yeah, and only kept 2 each day and released the rest.

Can you send one of those trout heads to Crosby...maybe intimidate him a little? Hahaha
Nice stream fishing, those fish are colored beautiful in that water. I'm sure the native Brookie was gorgeous

Nice job on educatin' them fish! I'm dying to find time to get out there, but I'm glad to see someone is enjoying my 2 personal fave streams! I'm guessing the wild brook came from the more northern one.

I finally threw a beat down on them yesterday. Streams seem to be the way to go right now cause I couldn't barely get a bite on the stocked ponds and pulled out like 18 yesterday
