Default Round Valley 12/7/13

After thinking about all the advice from you guys about Delaware river and walleye fishing me and my cousin decide to try round valley for the first time. We got too the bait shop around 6 only to find out they open at 8 so we went to get coffee. After we got bait we headed to the valley and got on the lake around 7:30 because the guy opened the bait shop little early, the guy was great help about what to use and other advice. Put the boat in and went to park the car, while heading onto the ramp I slipped on ice and bruised my knee, what a way to start lol. After all that we went to a first stop cast out shiners on one side and I cast out a binsky in about 60-70 ft of water and caught my first 17 in. lake trout ever. Then about 20 min. later my cousin used a gold binsky and caught 2 15 in rainbows. Lost a bunch more on binsky but not even a hit on bait. I love using the binsky now an love catching that lake trout I hope I catch more. Had to leave around 12:30 because the lights were blinking I guess because of the winds. Beautiful reservoir and I took the trout for the family, but ive never seen meat that pink like salmon. Never taking them again because fishing is a hobby and these fish are too nice.

Nice Job MIKE!!! Your getting pretty good with the BINSKY!!!! Nice to see you caught both rainbows and a laker! It's a great place to fish, especially in the winter. Have some great days there in mid winter providing the wind is not too bad. Must have been pretty rough if the lights were on! All my years of fishing there never experienced it! You can fish there 12 months a year and catch fish!!! Nothing wrong with taking a couple of trout for din-din!

Just wanted to add, You really impressed me this year with your motivation and fishing several new waters!!!
I know you have caught a few firsts this year!
See, Your determination and knowledge gained from the site and on the water paid off Big Time for you this year!

Always nice putting fish in the boat first time out on a new body of water. Nice Laker and love that Binsky.

Big Brown Mark ! You really put some time in on the shorelines at the valley and it pays off for you quite well!!!
A 24" Tagged Brown is a SWEET HOLIDAY TREAT!
I've caught some big rainbows over the years but never caught a brown anywhere near that size, I think my largest was a 19" caught at the valley as well.
