Default Happy for the little guy / Lake Report

Took half day off on Friday to get up for the last weekend of summer...

Got on the water late - took the family to get the last hour of dark...

Throwing down some jigs / lil guy decides to practice his rubber worm technique.

Set up on our drift to fish some structure... myself / the wife - rods down with some nice black crappies and while I am fighting my fish, I see my son buckle down on a fish.. really just watching what I am doing.. and in the corner of my eye, watch this largemouth do a 2 foot acrobatic jump in the air and now have to investigate.. fights the fish like a seasoned vet, keeps the pressure, right to the net.. BAM-O!!!!

Bring the fish in to weigh for our yearly fishing contest... 4lb 3ozs weighed and released. We go back out the following AM and he catches a 6lb 1oz hybrid all on his own.. Nice way to end the summer.

.

I wouldn't be happy for him I'd be like, "Damn it - that was MY bass. You're getting in the way."

I'm just kidding. That's really awesome. The big smile says it all.

Very cool...Congrats on the obviously excellent guiding job! I mean he wouldn't have caught that if you didn't put him on the fish....right?

Nicely done by him!
