Default Northern nj Passaic river fishing?

I've never fished the passaic or even been on the river before so I don't know what to expect. I don't have a kayak/boat and there doesn't seem to be a lot of acces along the river around essex county atleast, most of it seems to be peoples backyards or in the back of stores. I noticed a lot of people don't like sharing spots but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the corner of river road and eagle rock ave is a good place to start. I've seen people fishing there but it looks like a really small area. It does seem heavily fished and has enough room for like 2 cars (http://i.share.pho.to/ac444010_o.png).

The other spot close to me is apparently a boat launch area but other than that I don't know anything about it. Its off the bridge near the home depot, but the problem is its right off the highway and looks kind of hard to get to. The screenshot (http://i.share.pho.to/6aa20ce8_o.png) shows a little grey area I assume to launch boats, but its right off the road. Has anyone been to this area and how did you get to it? There's a car dealership near it but there's some really thick/swamp woods to get to the river.

Those are the only to options that I know of. I'd like somewhere away from the roads but I can't find any on google maps. I've never fished any river before but I have heard there's a good amount of largemouth in it.
