Default Passaic River

I have had off from work all week so I figured I would try to hook a pike somewhere for the first time this year. Went to three different spots. The last spot produced. We were using large shiners. My buddy hooked into one first that was close to 30 inches and I hooked into one a little bigger and pretty fat. Unfortunately we were fishing from a elevated area and could not get them up and the line snapped. That's how you know they were decent sized. No picture but it's okay I have caught enough around the 30' mark. It's the 40 inch pike that I need to get a pic of. One day hopefully. These fish barely moved when we hooked them. It was like reeling in dead weight lol. But the first day out was a success! I guess I'll need a net for this spot next time.

40"+ or it doesn't count buddy! Go big or go home lol. Gonna be a good year, all those average fish are hopefully above average and the beasts keep getting beastlier. I got 2 yesterday on shiners, no love on the lures.

Hahaha I know rob. A 40+ is a great goal. I think this year will be great for the both of us. I gotta keep living by my quote: "A great fisherman makes time to fish."

Afternoon Lads,

Antgogz, Thanks for the report! It seems like Shiners are the way to go at the given moment! Artificial's should be enticing the River Monsters soon enough.

Looks like it's going to really nice Monday. I'm going to head over to the PR and wet the line tomorrow.

If you're bored and anybody wants to just get weird, (kidding) I'll be out there....

Shoot me a PM!
