When does Fall Striper Run start up the Passaic?

Im looking to get my first big Striper this year so when does the fall Striper run start... I will be trying my luck on the nutly/lyndhurst bridge area...

Heard through the grapevine some are getting caught already, mostly shorts though. I fished the bridge upstream of that the other night with big white swimbaits for them but got the skunk. Hoping its a good run this year...

Is it best to fish at night/evening for them?
