Fished Rahway Park yesterday to kill some time. Also needed a change of venue as I've been hitting my other Union County honey hole quite a bit. Fished the river leading up to the dam behind the park and managed a 14 inch largemouth that came out of a submerged stump on a wacky rigged senko. From there I moved to the pond in the park. Third cast in the pond--right into the lily pads--twitched the senko off the pads and BOOM! Got this lil' porker (see image below). She put on a nice fight jumping several times. Same deal here, too--weightless wacky rigged senko. Started getting dark so I switched to a hula popper and continued working the shoreline around the pond and hooked up with a 12-13 inch dink on a rather large popper. So, three bass in two hours in a heavily fished park--can't complain. Catch em' up!

Nice catch. You're on a nice roll, and thanks for another tip.
Been staring at this park for a while and couldn't decide if I should check it now. Now, I'll definitely will thanks to you. |
