5:30am to 9 today and it was my best day there...caught the 5 below plus a LMB the size of my biggest last week...maybe slightly bigger, but i didnt get to snap a shot of him, jumped off my thumb before i got a chance to snap the shot

and before anyone says anything about the glove, its not that i dont like touching fish, its only a fish but since i do C&R ill wear a glove...keepers I wont...only cuz our body temp is twice that of a fish and although they don't feel the burn at first because their bodies are in shock they'll feel it later and their chance of survival after the catch is decreased...forgot where i read that but yeah it makes sense i guess...

the 3 long thin ones im not sure on cuz i never caught them before but its either pick, pike or muskie...pick is my guess but i could be wrong, colored one im thinking perch and the other one i have no clue but if it helps with an ID it had teeth...kinda looks like a rock bass but i could be wrong on that too...not a bad 3.5 hours on an 'overpressured' lake

Nice catches!

I was always told that you should try to avoid holding the fish on their bodies because it'll take the natural oils off that they need to keep them protected.....or something like that.

i heard that as well but the 'burning' thing seemed like it would hurt more...just think if someone put their hands on you and their body temp was 197.2...my driveway has gone WELL over 150 on a hot day and its unbearable even on my worn 35 yo feet...kinda the same thing...and i dont THROW them back in either i lay them in and let them go on their own accord out of my hand

Glad to see you're so conscientious about C&R. Don't know what kind of gloves you have, but it seems like holding the fish that way would remove some of the slime coat. Plus, flesh doesn't burn at human temperature; it might shock the fish, but it won't hurt them too much physically. I still think the best way to handle fish is to wet your hands and touch them as little as possible, and get them back into the water as fast as you can.

Also, nice catches.

hmmm, theres always different views and practices but to each his own, ive gotten used to doing it that way so no biggie, i keep forgetting to buy 'fish handling gloves' at Dicks every time im there (end up looking thru the lures and forgetting), my gloves are regular work gloves i used for snowblowing til the right glove tore, theyre thin but insulated well

as for the 3 long thin ones, am i right in thinking picks?

AND THANKS!
