South branch 8/7/25:

8/7/25: South branch Raritan river: Rockafellows dam to confluence with the N branch- 8:30am to 1:30pm Cleaning ONLY. Planned this trip on the heels of NJ Clean River Crew doing the upper half of the lower South branch from Sunnyside Park to Rockafellows dam. Pretty much cut and dry, grabbed what I could. I think I totaled 8 tires pulled. 3 tires left behind for various reasons, I can't do truck tires alone. Garbage can on right hand side just down from Blackpoint left behind as someone was fishing there. Found my first Ganesh idol of the season also at Blackpoint. Hockey net thingy left behind at 202 overpass, to awkward to handle alone. Talked to 2 very nice anglers on the river today and they recognized me from my FB posts, how cool is that. They were kind enough to show me some of the really nice fish they caught recently and wanted to thank not only myself but everyone else who took part in river clean ups. Left piles along the way as I no longer have my truck, Neshanic, Clawson, Studdiford and confluence. Found some REALLY old tires today, one had snow studs and the other looked like it came off of a Ford Model-T ! Overall not too bad, I'm sure I missed a few but tried to have my neck on a swivel so as not to miss anything. Unfortunately word of tires in the S branch up by the Rt 31 crossing by the Red Mill in Clinton and just below Rt 78 by the STP.
